He starts on Monday, and he's already uploaded everything
No list of five documents. One document is asked for, he's told where to find it, he photographs it inside a frame, and gets an instant answer on whether it's readable. No printer, no scanner.
His identity card, on the kitchen table
The documents sent are not acceptable.
Monday 8 am, your first day at Maison Marceau. Let's prepare your file together: six steps, ten minutes, one at a time.
StartNo printer, no scanner: your phone is enoughWhere to find it: in your wallet, front then back.
Where to find it: in your banking app, under bank details (RIB).
PDFrib-sofiane.pdfWhere to find it: on ameli, under My documents, Certificate of entitlement.
PDFattestation-droits.pdfWhere to find it: your bus or train pass: half of it is reimbursed to you.
Where to find it: the company's, or an exemption if you're already covered.
Meanwhile, on the boss's side: nothing to do
He starts on Monday,
and he's already uploaded everything.
He said yes, and that's where he gets stuck
- 01He doesn't know where it is
He reads social security certificate and doesn't know where to look for it.
- 02No printer, no scanner
And he's asked for a scanned document.
- 03The crooked photo
He photographs his identity card at an angle, and is asked for it again.
- 04The documents sent are not acceptable
That's the only reply he gets. Nothing more.
- 05He doesn't dare say he hasn't understood
He's only just joined you.
Where to find it: on ameli, under My documents, Certificate of entitlement button. Two minutes, from this phone.
One document at a timeDocument accepted. You won't come back to it.
Instant replyYou decide, step by step, what you hand over
Here's Sofiane's file, step by step. For each one, say whether it goes through Atlas® or stays as it is today, then run the simulation.
One document, not a list
A link in his name. One document on screen, the easiest first.
Where to find it, in plain words
One line says it: his ameli account for the certificate, his bank for the bank details.
The frame, and the answer
He fits the document into the four corners. Two seconds later: readable, or to redo.
What's left to do
The documents approved, the one in progress, those to come with their help line already there.

His first impression is formed before his first day
Sofiane said yes on Wednesday, he starts on Monday. Here's what he experiences in between.
- Day minus six
A single document requested
His identity card, with the frame to photograph it. Uploaded in two minutes.
Without: an email, five documents in a list. He stumbles on the second, closes it, and tells himself he'll see at the weekend.
- Day minus three
The photo is checked as it's taken
Blurry or a corner cut off, he knows within the second and retakes the shot.
Without: his photo is taken at an angle on the kitchen table. Glare, corner cut off. He's asked for it three times.
- The day before
One document left
The reminder goes out in your name, with the line that says where to find it. It arrives at 9 pm.
Without: the bank details and the certificate are missing. You call on a Sunday evening. He says yes, without daring to say he couldn't find them.
- The first day
The file has been complete for two days
You show him around, nobody asks him for anything.
Without: he walks in with an envelope. His first hour with you is spent sorting paper.
His documents are there, and they're well kept
These are identity documents: the question arises, and here's the answer in plain words.
They don't travel by email. His documents go into his area, never into your inbox. Each copy carries a watermark saying what it's for, like filigrane.beta.gouv.fr, recommended by UFC Que Choisir.
Kept as long as necessary, no longer. The file lives for the duration of the contract, then is archived according to the CNIL retention periods guide, April 2026. You and your accountant have access.
The bank details are confirmed in person. In July 2025 the CNIL described bank transfer fraud: fake email, bank details changed, salary diverted. The bank details are reconfirmed in person before the first transfer.
What we don't promise. Some won't manage on their own: you take the photo in thirty seconds. The message goes out in your name, as one candidate in two finds excessive automation a deal-breaker.
91% of French people have a smartphone, the only device he'll have to hand.
1 in 2 has already helped someone close with an online procedure.
Only 48% of employees have had a structured, formal induction.
32% have already left a company because of their induction.
Baromètre du numérique 2026, CRÉDOC for Arcep, Arcom, CGE and ANCT, 4,145 people, June 2025. OpinionWay for Scalliance, 1,001 employees, April 2025: one departure in two within the first month.
What he's asked for, and what he'll never be asked for
What he'll never be asked for
- A photo of himself: the CNIL says it's optional, rules for staff management
- His family situation, his housing, his plans for children: CNIL, recruitment and personal data, 30 January 2023
- Neither his social security number nor his bank details before your yes: data forbidden at the application stage
- A photocopy of his Carte Vitale: the certificate of entitlement is enough
What he's asked for, and where it is
- His proof of identity, which is in his wallet
- His certificate of entitlement: ameli account, under My documents, free
- His bank details, in his banking app
- Depending on the job only: qualification, driving licence, residence permit
What online uploading brings you
Five documents, three back-and-forths each, ten minutes every time: fifteen exchanges. Here the document is approved as the photo is taken.
