You call him at 2 pm, he's out on a job
Your candidate already has a job. He can't talk in front of his boss. He says yes to get off the phone, then tries to work out how to get away without saying why. Often, he doesn't turn up.
Tuesday 2 pm: he's under a car
"Maison Ferrand, hello! I'm the workshop's assistant. Are you calling about the mechanic position?"
"Yes, it's Mathieu, you left me a message."
"Perfect, Mathieu. Laurent Ferrand, the workshop manager, would like to meet you. Thursday 7.30 am or Thursday 6.30 pm?"
"Thursday 7.30 am, before my shift."
"Noted. Thirty minutes: a chat, then a tour of the workshop. Come in through the blue gate, 4 rue des Artisans, park in the "Visitor" space."
"All right. Should I bring anything?"
"Your driving licence, proof of identity, your qualifications if you have any, and work clothes: a ten-minute trial is planned. I'll send it all by text."
"Great, thanks!"

You call him at 2 pm, he's out on a job, he says yes to get off the phone. He spends two days working out how to get away without telling his boss. He takes half a day's leave for a thirty-minute interview. Held up the day before, he doesn't dare call you back to say so: he disappears. Nothing in writing: no duration, no name, nowhere to park, and he drives round the estate for ten minutes.

He receives three times, not one
A message in your name, three slots including one before work and one after the day.
He books in two clicks
From his phone, on his break or on the way, and the confirmation arrives straight away. Nobody around him sees a thing.
He receives the details, and keeps them
The job, the duration, the first name of the person he'll meet, the address, where to park, what to bring.
The day before, the reminder and the button to reschedule
It all comes back in three lines at 6 pm. Stuck, he reschedules himself instead of disappearing.

Three days seen from his side
Thomas is in a job, and he'd like to come and work for you. Here's what becomes of his three days in both cases.
Tuesday 2 pm, the call. You suggest Thursday 10 am. He's under a car, his boss three metres away. He says yes to get off the phone. Nothing in writing, no duration, no address.
Wednesday, the day before. He looks for an excuse to get away on Thursday morning. He can't find one, and doesn't dare tell you. He lets it go.
Thursday, five past ten. Nobody. You call, it rings out. You'd blocked out an hour and kept a customer waiting.
Tuesday 2 pm, the call. A short message, three possible times including 7.30 am and 6.30 pm. He chooses on his break, in ten seconds, without having to talk to anyone.
Wednesday, the day before. At 6 pm, the reminder: the time, the address, the first name of the person he'll meet. And a way to reschedule with one finger, without explaining himself.
Thursday, the day. He's there at 7.25 am, before his shift, parked opposite. He knows he'll be leaving in thirty minutes.
A good candidate isn't lost for lack of interest
Three obstacles, and they fall before you've even met him.
| The obstacle | What he experiences | What removes it |
|---|---|---|
| He couldn't get away | He's in a job, he can't get away during the day. | Times before 8 am and after 6 pm, which only you offer. |
| He didn't dare say no | Held up, he stays silent rather than calling you back. | A way to reschedule with one finger, without a phone call and without an excuse to invent. |
| He didn't know where he was going | Neither the duration, nor who he'd meet, nor where to park. | The written details in his phone, and the reminder the day before. |
The 7.30 am slot only exists if you offer it. The message goes out in your name.
And some won't turn up.
What the one-click interview brings you
Eight interviews per hire, two of them missed: in a job, no daytime slot. Before 8 am, after 6 pm, plus the reminder the day before.
